Blue-Green Citizens brings together complementary programs under Beirut 2050, united by a shared mission to protect and restore Beirut’s natural heritage.

It unites Tree Guardians by Cedars for Care (CFC) and Blue Citizens by Operation Big Blue Association (OBBA).

The Tree Guardians Team is dedicated to protecting and enhancing Beirut’s urban greenery.

  • Adopt and care for a tree
  • Monitor tree health and condition
  • Report hazards, pests, diseases, or vandalism
  • Contribute to Beirut’s urban tree inventory and GIS

Blue Citizens

The Blue Citizens Team works to protect Beirut’s aquatic and coastal environments through community participation, environmental stewardship, and citizen science.

  • Monitor marine flora and fauna
  • Protect beaches, rivers, wetlands, and coastal ecosystems
  • Report pollution and environmental incidents
  • Participate in coastal and river clean-up campaigns
  • Contribute to water quality monitoring
  • Support biodiversity observations and citizen science initiatives
  • Report to the Blue Aid Facility in case of animals in distress
